New Cell Phone
February 22, 2005
Besides being back from my trip and over my food poisoning, I have even more news. I got a new cell phone. Yep. I think this is my fourth cell phone. It’s another Nokia. 6100.

I got it because the connection between the phone and the SIM card in my old one was going bad, plus the ring had become so soft I could never hear it ring unless I was holding it when it rang.
So now the new one has:
- Loud polyphonic rings (my current one sounds like a badass circus tune)
- Color screen
- T9 predictive text input for English as well as Chinese
I can’t believe I’ve been doing without those features for so long. I can do without a camera in my cell phone for now; I think it’s pretty silly when the cameras are so crappy.
One thing that disappointed me about the new model is its games. There’s only one, and it’s a chess puzzle game. Not even full-on chess, but “chess puzzles,” as in, “given this scenario, checkmate black in one move.” Or two moves. Or whatever. In color.
I miss my monochrome space shooter from my last Nokia cell phone. :(
