Beefs with Google
April 1, 2005
Recently Illy inspired me to do a Google search for “john pasden.” I was annoyed by some of the results. This annoyance is partly Google’s fault.

The #1 link is not http://www.sinosplice.com, but rather <www.sinosplice.com/main-zh.html>, which is long outdated (but fortunately redirects), and is in Chinese. I’d think my English blog would be a better candidate for the #1 link…

“Frassle” is the #2 link? What the heck is this??
-
The #5 link is sinoplice.com. Yeah. Reread that name slowly. I guess it’s flattering that some parasite thinks my site is popular enough to draw URL typo traffic from, but it pisses me off still. It’s #5! It also says “Results for sinop lice” at the top of the page, and “john pasden” is nowhere on the page even though it turned up as a search result for “john pasden.” Strange. Not sure what sort of internet witchcraft is involved in that tomfoolery.
OK, that’s all. I’ll stop whining now.
