Dinosaur Poems
November 15, 2005
I have to write a kindergarten English lesson on dinosaurs. I am not happy about this, because dinosaurs are one of the most useless things to teach a Chinese kindergartener, and dinosaurs’ English names are hard. But I have no choice.
I did some internet research and stumbled across these dinosaur poems. Some were pretty funny (in that lame, “kids are dumb” kind of way):
A Dinosaur Rhyme
by: Cory R., Grade: 2
Dinosaurs Are Tough
They Bite When They Fight
They Play Rough
They Have Good Sight
They Play in The Night (Who taught this kid how to rhyme? Out of control!!!) A Long Time Ago
by: Diego P., Grade: 3
A long time ago dinosaurs ruled the world, they were the biggest reptiles, and now they don’t live enymore. (I think Diego needs to play with blocks a while longer before he tackles poetry.) All About Dinosaurs
by: Robert G., Grade: 2
Dinosaurs have sharp teeth.
They died many years ago.
They ate plants and meat. I miss the dinosaurs! Do you? (If dinosaurs were still around, you’d be the meat, kid.) Anklyosaurus
by: Ingird L., Grade: K
Anklyosaurus she was a plant eater. She liked to eat and she liked beets. She walked all day and she walked all night. Anklyosaurus used all her might. (Great use of “beets,” Ingrid. You genius.)
