GoodReads
September 14, 2008
The last time I tried a social networking sites for books, it kind of failed. It was Douban. Anyway, I’ve moved on.
When it comes to social networks for books, the leaders are LibraryThing, Shelfari, and GoodReads. Tim O’Reilly pointed out that GoodReads is growing the fastest, and one of the major reasons I want to use a service like this is for good recommendations (like Last.fm), so I decided to go with GoodReads.
Here is my (somewhat incomplete) book list: John on GoodReads (click on the “rating” column title to see which books are my favorites).
I made a “rule” for myself that I can add any book I’ve ever read, as long as it made a sufficient impression on me (good or bad). No fair putting down books that I read long ago but hardly remember.
Anyway, here’s where you come in. Join GoodReads and add me as a friend. I’d like to know what you’re reading!
