Add me to photos on Flickr

November 1, 2009

Flickr just recently added the ability to name the people in your photos (similar to Facebook). You can do this manually for every photo, but if you have a lot of photos, that’s too much work. If you’re good about adding tags for the people in your photos, though, it’s pretty easy! I have added everyone in my family and some of my friends to all of my Flickr photos pretty easily.

If you have Flickr photos, please add me to any photos I’m in. Here’s how to do it if you have already added tags for the people in the photos:

  1. Sign in to Flickr.
  2. From the Organize menu dropdown, choose “All our content.”
  3. Find the big blue “Search” button at the bottom, and click on “more options” next to it.
  4. Select the “Tags only” radio button.
  5. Do a search using one of the tags you use to tag a certain person.
  6. Click on the tiny “Select all” link above the strip of photos at the botom.
  7. Click and drag the photos from the bottom to the big space at the top.
  8. Click on “Add people” at the top, and add the person (use their email address if they are not a Flickr user).
  9. Wait for it to add, then click “Thanks!”
  10. If you want to add more people, click on “Clear this batch” at top right, do another tag search, and go back to step #6.
