Alana is fine, but Jenny is gone. She was supposedly just taking her weekly day off, Saturday night through Sunday night. Little did we know she was secretly planning to leave and run off with her boyfriend. She informed us by text at 7:30pm on Sunday night. When we called her back, her cell phone was off. Half an hour was all the notice we got that we were suddenly nanny-less. When we got home, we found her key. Everything else was where it should be, but most of her stuff was gone.

We were quite shocked by this abrupt departure. As far as we knew, she was happy. She was good to Alana, and we were good to her. It was all very unexpected. The only problems we ever had with Jenny were always related to her boyfriend (who seemed to bring out her irresponsible side). But I guess that’s all behind us now.

So SS’s mom is helping out, and we’re nanny hunting again. We’re going through the Filipina nanny agency again. We might have found one already. (She looks good on paper.) We’ll know tomorrow.
