Alana at 15 Months

February 14, 2013

OK, time for another update, I guess? I know Alana is growing fast, but it no longer feels to me like she’s changing fast. I guess some of the biggest VISIBLE changes are her teeth (4 very obvious ones, and other growing in less obviously), but she still basically looks the same as she did for her one-year-old photo shoot. I know, there’s plenty going on inside that little head of hers, for sure. Outside in the Sunshine She’s not yet ready to walk on her own, but she loves walking around with help (just one finger is all she needs). She’s quite vocal, and I guess she’s making slow, steady progress on her talking. Here’s what I’ve observed:

  1. Doggie: her first word, and still her favorite word; always said in an extremely high pitch
  2. Hi: used only occasionally, but she definitely knows what it means
  3. Daddy: she seemed to know what it meant a while ago, but has basically stopped using it
  4. Mama/Baba: she uses these occasionally, but it’s hard to tell if she knows what they mean
  5. No/nuh: definitely getting clearer and clearer on the “no” word

Obviously, she can understand a lot more than she can say, but it’s hard to say exactly how much she can understand. Riding a Dinosaur Also, Alana has gotten much better about going to sleep at night. We can put her down when she’s still awake, and most of the time she won’t cry anymore, and will cooperate and go to sleep. She occasionally cries, but doesn’t keep it up for long. (We have an eye on her with our video baby monitor, which is just awesome.)

OK, I can’t think of much else to report. Let me know if you have questions!
