Preparing for Isaac

January 18, 2015

SS’s c-section is scheduled for Tuesday, January 20th, at 10:30am, so that’s the big day. I’m quite worried, actually, because SS’s cold is pretty bad, and someone I know recently had a new baby while there was a bad cold in the house, and that baby got hospitalized with pneumonia. Scary stuff!

SS is huge, though, and understandably wants to hurry up and give birth. Not sure how it’s going to work, trying to breast feed with a cold and all that, but I guess we’ll find out soon.

Here are some photos of the “computer nook” being converted into Alana’s new sleep space. She seems to like the new bed, and sleeps well in that location so far. (She’s sleeping there now, as I type this in bed before sacking out. I get up at 7am now so I can take Alana to preschool by bus before heading to work by subway.)

Sorting through stuff: Reorganizing A new place for the old PC: Computer Consolidation Old stuff cleared out, new furniture arrived: Clearing Space for a Bed New bed, plus new wardrobe for Alana’s clothes, with comforter warming on the heater: New Sleeping Space New bed, with comforter warming on the heater: New Sleeping Space Somebody likes her new bed! New Sleeping Space So the old crib has now been prepared for a new baby, the old changing table moved to a more convenient location. The plan is for SS to sleep in the room with the baby next to the nanny (Sally) in the trundle bed, while I sleep in our bedroom bed, sharing the room with Alana. Once the baby is not so tiny and in need of frequent nighttime attention, SS will move back into the bedroom (and we’ll use the baby monitor), while the nanny will continue sleeping in the same room with the baby.

Crazy to think that baby Isaac’s world debut is only about 36 hours away!
