There are some great joys to living abroad. Right now it’s knowing that everyone back home is being deluged with nonstop election coverage — quite possibly to a greater extent than ever before — while I get only a comfortable trickle via the internet.

My vote is already in, so I feel no guilt, just a vague sense of impending doom. Nothing to do now but sit back and watch the show when it all comes crashing down…

There is great trepidation for the nation.
