What has happened in the past 2 weeks:

1. Song Shen and I bought an apartment. (!!!)

2. My main tutoring client went back to Taiwan. That means I lost a big chunk of my income, and I need to find more work to replace it.

3. I did awesome on my Chomsky presentation, which pretty much wraps up the main part of my grade for that class. My other two classes are done for the semester already.

4. I’m getting to know Phil. He seems like a very cool guy. He sat in on my linguistics class (part 2 on Chomsky) last Friday.

5. I’ve gotten two interesting job offers through the magic of the internet. One involves translation of Chinese news into compact English summaries. The other involves improving maps of Shanghai. I’m interested in both.

6. John B and his wife Kexia came for a visit. We watched Seinfeld. We ate pizza and drank beer. We beat the new PS2 version of Gauntlet. We talked web stuff. It was fun.

7. I got John B a job at Melody. As a result, he and Kexia are moving to Shanghai from Hangzhou very soon.
