So tonight there was a “party” for the foreign students at ECNU. Part of the the proceedings was the university president awarding scholarships. I got this year’s one top scholarship, good for one year of tuition (20,000 RMB, or $2500). So next week they’ll basically be refunding the money I paid last September. This comes at a good time, with all the apartment decorating and wedding preparations depleting our hard-earned savings. The money does mean that we can get the new computers we want, though. (YES!)

Our new apartment will be a three-computer home:

1. My new PC, running Windows XP (not yet bought)
2. SS’s new black MacBook (not yet bought)
3. My old computer running Linux, probably the Ubuntu distribution (not yet implemented)
