I saw a few movies recently that I enjoyed. My comments:

Night at the Museum. I don’t know what I really expected from this one. SS wanted to watch it. I didn’t even realize it was a Ben Stiller movie before I watched it. Owen Wilson turned up in it too. Anyway, it was actually a pretty fun movie. A fairly wholesome family movie. I can see Mom and Dad enjoying this one together.

The Departed. I never saw the HK movie upon which this movie was based, but I kept hearing how good it is, so I had to see it. I was quite impressed. Stellar cast, good performances, and an ending I was totally not prepared for. (Warning: VIOLENT!) Good stuff.

Half Nelson. I saw a review for this one online and I downloaded it by bittorrent. Wow, really powerful. It’s about a white teacher who teaches history at an inner city middle school. He takes a special interest in one student’s welfare when he finds out she’s been hanging around a drug dealer, but the problem is that the teacher himself has a drug habit, and the girl found out about it. Really impressive indie film. It made me cry.
