CNY Update

February 9, 2011

So Chinese New Year is officially over as of today. That means a lot less annoying fireworks.

That also means SS and I are back from our stay in Chongming Island. We had a very nice and very productive time there. The weather was great, the food was good, and it was unexpectedly quiet, peaceful, and uncrowded. We especially loved that part. Chongming Boardwalk Also, for Chinese New Year’s Eve dinner, we did the Polish opłatki tradition (Wikipedia!). They really liked it, and we all enjoyed it. We used up all the wafer, and then SS’s mom found a fragment in the envelope. “What’s this?” she asked. Before I could say, “just another fragment left over,” she said, “this must be for their wishes for us.” Sweet (even though she got who gives who what when wrong).

More pics on Flickr. I just posted a lot of random stuff lately. You need to be logged in to see a lot of it. Newton in CNY Outfit
