Alana: coming up on 3 years old
October 3, 2014
So Alana has been a lot of fun lately. She’s gotten into stories more, and she even tries telling her own sometimes (she can do both English and Chinese, and knows “Once upon a time…” and the Chinese equivalent 从前). Her stories tend to involve animals and their families (everything is always about Mommy, Daddy, and Baby for her), and revolve around whatever happened to her recently. It’s cute.
Her new favorite phrase is a high-pitched incredulous “Whaaaat?!” that she must have learned from me. She usually accompanies it with throwing her hands up on the air. Her timing is somewhat random, but it can be hilarious.
She has a wide range of expressions, and she’s always experimenting with new ones. She also likes to make faces for the camera (I wonder where she gets that??).
Alana likes to ask, “do you remember…?” Her memory is pretty good! She recognizes songs she knows and always asks us, “do you remember this song?”
She hasn’t been working on her characters, but seems to still know the ~80 characters. She’s pretty good with numbers 1-100 now (English and Chinese). She’s starting to read the time on digital clocks.
Alana saw the movie Miniscule recently (a story about a ladybug aiding a group of black ants against an onslaught by red ants), and loved it. She still loves Frozen too, though.
