Isaac turned 6 months 10 days ago, and he had a doctor’s appointment and (vaccine) shot today. So the official stats are in!

• Weight: 10.2 kg (22.5 lbs.)
• Length: 74 cm (29 inches)

According to Dr. Greene:

At six months, anywhere between 14 and 21 pounds is considered a healthy weight for boys. (Although, five percent of healthy boys weigh less than 14 pounds and five percent of healthy boys weight more than 21 pounds). Healthy boys who are 28 inches long, whatever their age, usually weigh 16 to 22 pounds.

So yeah, he’s kind of big (but proportional). The doctor was impressed by how well he could sit, and by his strong grip. He’s totally over his pneumonia and developing nicely, and he’s sleeping pretty well at night, so hopefully before he turns one he’ll be able to sleep through the night, and maybe Alana can even move back into that room pretty soon!

We’re very pleased by what a happy and gentle little boy he is, while also being less timid than Alana was. And of course we love that adorable little crooked smile. (He continues to make the “dolphin squeals,” but only when super excited or upset.)
