SS and I have wanted to get a dog for a while now. She’s rather impulsive, and if not for my insistence, she probably would have gotten one long ago. I kept telling her that Chinese New Year vacation would be a good time to get one because we’d both be home a lot more than usual and could give the new puppy the attention it needs.

Well, I wasn’t just bluffing; we finally did get our new puppy on the third day of vacation (I go back to work next Wednesday). His English name is “Newton,” but we will be calling him by his Chinese name, 牛顿 (the Chinese transliteration of the famous physicist’s name). Pictures! He’s only two months old. He’s had most of his shots already. He’s really small, but so far he seems like a spunky little guy (without being psycho).

He’s a Westie (West Highland White Terrier). He’s really tiny; look at the other Flickr pictures to see just how small.
